Frenship Middle School participated in the second Texas Tech chess tournament held at Frenship middle school on November 12th 2016. The players of Frenship middle school did an awesome job. They took home seven of the eight trophies available in the K through 8 section. In the unrated section we had four players finished tied for first place with four wins and no losses. Based on computer rankings Garrett Racca finished in first followed by Henry Whiting in second. Third place went to Ben Myers and Kaiden Womack. Frenship Middle School also finished in first place as a team in the unrated section. In the rated section Frenship Middle School finished first as a team and had the first place winner Chris Cashman with four wins and no losses and 2nd place winner was Cade Salisbury. Frenship middle school has finished first as a team or as individuals in every tournament in the last 2 years. Chris Cashman has not lost a game in the last eight tournaments compiling a record of 32 wins and 0 losses. Mr. Messerschmidt is extremely proud of the Frenship Middle School chess teams accomplishments.
